For schools and day cares:
- Information on COVID safety, including financial support guidance, for child care providers can be found on the Department of Early Education and Care’s website.
- The EEC issued revised Minimum Requirements for Health and Safety this past week. Among the changes include modifications to ratios and group sizes. Childcare programs will now be allowed to return to their pre-COVID licensed ratios in all age groups. They will also be allowed to return to their licensed maximum group size for all age groups provided that, for Group and School Age programs, a minimum of 42 square feet per child can be achieved.
- The MA Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) issued a guidance memo to private K-12 schools on July 29th. The memo, along with all of DESE’s guidance and district communications, can be found here.
- The availability of the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) funding for non-public elementary and secondary schools will be determined based on the number and percentage of low-income students enrolled in the school.
