JCRC welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The anticipated release of hostages provides a glimmer of hope during an immensely painful time.

We are deeply grateful for the coordinated efforts of President Biden, President-elect Trump, and U.S. leadership in facilitating this agreement.

This agreement, while a step forward, comes amidst profound tragedy. Many hostages and brave members of the IDF will never return home, leaving families and communities shattered by unbearable loss. We acknowledge Israel’s difficult decision to accept painful prisoner release terms to achieve this, while the nation continues to endure immense suffering.

The toll of this war — on human life, on families, and on the Israeli and Palestinian people — remains staggering and heartbreaking.

We stand with Israel, praying for the safe return of all hostages and a future for Israelis and Palestinians built on peace, security, and healing.
