JCRC Response to New Hate Crimes Initiative
Today’s announcement of the creation of the Hate Crimes Awareness and Response Team demonstrates the seriousness with which the Healey-Driscoll Administration is tackling rising extremism across our Commonwealth and to their unyielding commitment to greater security for all vulnerable communities. Over the last year and accelerated the past several weeks, communities have experienced rising hate exacerbating feelings of fear and isolation. We thank Governor Healey, Lt. Governor Driscoll, Attorney General Campbell and Secretary Reidy for being continued champions, for increasing community coordination and preparedness, and for meeting this moment by addressing threats to the Jewish, Muslim and other historically marginalized communities.
