This week, the Healey-Driscoll Administration has announced nearly $5 million in grants to over 100 nonprofit organizations for 2025, including awarding $1.54 million in Nonprofit Security Grants and $421,137 in Nonprofit Security Personnel Grants to Jewish institutions in Massachusetts.
JCRC has long been the leading advocate for these resources at the State House, advancing the safety of our schools, synagogues, and community centers and addressing the growing threat of hate crimes and violence. These grants help our community and other vulnerable groups safely gather, connect, celebrate, and thrive.
The grants support two areas we have long advocated for: facility hardening, which provides essential infrastructure upgrades to secure vulnerable spaces, and security personnel, which ensures the presence of trained professionals to protect our institutions.
We applaud the leadership of the legislature; and Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Secretary Terrence Reidy, and their administration for recognizing the urgency of this issue and for their commitment to this critical program. Their commitment reflects the best of our Commonwealth’s values. We thank our partners at Agudath Israel of New England for their steadfast advocacy and leadership for the personnel grants.
At a time when antisemitism and hate crimes are on the rise, this $1.966 million investment in Jewish communal institutions sends a powerful message of solidarity and action. JCRC remains steadfast in our mission to advocate for a stronger, more resilient community. Together, we will continue building a safer, more inclusive Commonwealth.
